PostSubject: What is Truth?   Sun Jul 17, 2016 9:16 am

“But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name.” John 20:31

My head naturally lowers and shakes; my heart hurts for the people who look to movies and the internet to constitute reality. I find that, unlike prior generations, people no longer examine Christianity on logical or spiritual grounds. They simply assume that somehow the mass of information they digest daily is the truth.

I hear from others that Jesus was married. “Where did you hear that?” I ask. “The Da Vinci Code,” they reply. When I say that isn't truth, the response is “How do you know?”

How do we know? By the light of our ultimate authority: God’s Word! If one is to make a claim about Jesus, he should go to the final Word about Jesus: the Bible. This is not only a matter of truth, but of life. It may seem fun and trendy to speculate about Jesus’ life, but there is no need to speculate when we have His Word. For over 2,000 years the Bible has inspired, taught, and revealed God’s perfect plan to rescue us through Jesus. We can’t add anything to it!

Insight: Take a look anywhere and everywhere. You can see the truth bent, twisted and solely based on speculation. Why do you think that "all of a sudden" this is a widespread epidemic? Take some time today and pray to God that He'll give you the wisdom to see right through all the lies around us. If you get the urge to open the Bible, you'll know He's guiding you and answering your prayer.

Reader's Prayer: God, please give me the wisdom to know Your truth. Make me understand once and for all to go to the source of all truth, Your Holy Word, the Bible. In Jesus' Name, Amen

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
