PostSubject: In God's Hands   Sat Mar 18, 2017 12:36 pm

One of the lessons we teach our young children is to hold the hand of an adult when crossing the street so they will be safe. Throughout our lives in countless ways...we trust the hands of others as we experience help, care and comfort. Even though we do not always think about it, what a true blessing it is to hold...and to be held in love.

In a spiritual sense, we are invited to place ourselves in the hands of God, our protector, just as Jesus did on the cross. And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said "Father, in to Your hands I commit My spirit." Having said this, He breathed His last. Luke 23:46.

We do not know what lies ahead for any of us. Our paths may take frightening detours or turns. At times, we may even feel as though we are being pursued by enemies. Sometimes we go down to the pit of despair with feelings of fear and doubt. Even though we may scoff at this, we all need someone to "hold our hand" during our difficult times.

Whether we are just beginning life or nearing the end of our course, we are invited to trust God to guide and protect us. We give thanks for the many loving hands that hold us...those of parents, grandparents, friends and spouses. But by far, the best hands that hold us are the hands of God. These hands that formed us, will hold us in faithful and steadfast love.

Insight: It's all we need to do is believe on His Word and trust Him. "Your hands have made me and fashioned me; Give me understanding that I may learn Your commandments." Psalm 119:73

Prayer: Dear God, Thank you for all who lift us up and support us. Remind us to rely on You above all others. In Jesus' Name, Amen

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
