“This will take place on the day when God will judge men’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my Gospel declares.” Romans 2:16

Our justice system is not perfect. Sometimes innocent people are convicted. Sometimes guilty people are acquitted. Yet most of the time, we get it reasonably right.

When we are wronged and the perpetrator does get away with it, be assured that their escape is temporary. Just as we can be assured of our salvation by believing the Gospel, we can be certain, by that same Gospel, that God will judge all sin. People may have gotten away with sin before a human court, but they will never be able to escape God’s judgment forever.

That all sin is punished is good news to those of us who believe the Gospel because the judgment for our sin has been paid for by Jesus Christ. He is the One who will judge the living and the dead.

If you’re living in fear, trying one way or another to cover over your own wrongs, you’ll never find rest. But if you have trusted Christ, give thanks to Him for having paid the judgment for your sin. Either you will have to die spiritually for your sin or you can live by accepting Jesus’ death in your place.

Insight: We have all sinned, but at the cross, Jesus took the judgement upon Himself for the sin of all who believe the Gospel. Believe God and be set free!

Reader's Prayer: Dear God, I know I am a sinner. I believe Jesus took my sin upon Himself at the cross and paid the ultimate price with His life. I believe He died, was buried and rose three days later. Thank you for drawing me closer to You by allowing me to believe the Gospel message. I want to find rest and be set free through Your awesome salvation plan found only through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. In His Name I pray, Amen

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
1 John 5:11-12 cheers
