PostSubject: Fresh Air Intake?    Sun Nov 11, 2018 2:42 pm

Hello everyone,

On my 1958 Fury - under the dash, centered under the radio, there seem to be a large vent (for fresh air?), that has what looks like a rubber piece on in to push with your foot to close it. It seems to be, what i guessed to be a fresh air vent. It is closed and I don’t know how to open it (or what it really does). Can some one tell me what it is - and how to operate it ?

Many thanks.
David.

Hi David. Yes fresh air. Push down to open, pull up to close. Marc.

Thanks 58 Belvedere,

My vent seems to be stuck — and does not move. Is there an actuator under the hood? Or should it just swing open and closed - with your foot, as you desrcribed?

thanks,
David

Completely MANual. Try some spray penetrant oil. https://www.walmart.com/ip/The-Original-PB-B-laster-Penetrant/16816083?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&wl13=4165&adid=22222222227016736164&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=42967050032&wl4=aud-566049426705:pla-81459263072&wl5=9027281&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=local&wl12=16816083&wl13=4165&veh=sem&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI97extrTa3gIV5ZJbCh0RuASTEAQYAyABEgJOw_D_BwE
